Chapter Leaders
Families4Families was founded by Amanda & Alex Marshall to serve families in need in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area during the pandemic. Since then, it has grown to include chapters all over the country.
Families4FamiliesACK was started and led by Megan Rupp & John Bailey Butswinkas and Stacy & Emma Rosen during 2020 during the height of the pandemic.
Currently, we are led by Grayson, Riley, and Whitney Shaw who are seasonal residents that want to support our Nantucket neighbors during this unprecedented crisis.
Partner Organization
This operation depends on our partner organization, Nantucket Food Fuel & Rental Assistance which provides critical assistance and services to year-round residents. NFFRA is an outreach service of the Nantucket Interfaith Council. The NFFRA Food Pantry was founded in 1991. For the past several years, the pantry has distributed more than 16,000 bags of groceries to approximately 1,700 hungry neighbors, reaching a high of 20,000 bags in the past year. The Rental Assistance Program began in 2004. Since its founding, the program has assisted 552 households with rental subsidies totaling $1,078,941.00. The need for an island-based rental assistance program remains critical. The Fuel Assistance Program was created in 2014 and helps clients apply for heat subsidies as well as providing direct assistance to families with heating emergencies.
